11:15-12:00 – Introduction to Irish Dance
This class will cover the basics of Irish dancing as well as some simple team ‘céilí’ dances. This class is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and a fun way to learn for complete beginners or those with some previous experience.
12:00-13:15 – Céilí Class
These classes are for dancers of all levels. If you are not currently attending Irish dancing classes or are familiar with basic Irish and/or céilí dancing you are encouraged to attend the free intrdouction class at 11:15. A variety of céilí dances will be covered in the class in preparation for the Céilí Club.

13:15-14:30 – Drum & Dance
Join us for this special collaborative workshop combining hard shoe Irish dance and percussion instruments. This class is suitable for traditional and non-traditional percussion instruments (bódhran, cajon, tambourine, spoons, triangle) and dancers with basic Irish, tap (or similar) dance training. All welcome! Choreography & percussion combinations suitable for both novice and experienced musicians and dancers of any style or genre.
15:00-16:15 – Céilí Music
This class is open to both members of the European Irish Music Ensemble & non-members. Céilí tunes such as polkas, reels and jigs will be practiced as speeds and arrangements for céilí dancing in preparation for the Céilí Club.

16:30-18:00 – Céilí Club
This is a great opportunity for musicians and dancers to come together and enjoy some céilí dancing to live music. This ‘club’ welcomes all musicians and dancers (members and non-members). A great way to finish of a great day of Irish music and dance in a fun and welcoming environment.

These classes/rehearsals are for members of Rince Revontulet. These classes will review steps from online classes as well as show choreography for upcoming performances) . European Irish Music Ensemble

Director / Instructor – Mark Hennessey MPhil BSc TCRG – Dublin, Ireland
Mark Hennessey is a musician/composer from Dublin Ireland. A multi-instrumentalist, he has toured in various productions such as Lord of the Dance as well as residing in Busch Gardens Virginia and Planet Hollywood Resort Las Vegas. He composes both electronic and acoustic music (or a combination of both) ranging from solo pieces to full ensemble/orchestral works.
As well as teaching music and dance classes worldwide, Mark has also previously lectured in Visual Music on the MPhil Music & Media Technologies course in Trinity College Dublin.
His work has been broadcast on both regional and national radio stations such as RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, Newstalk and Raidió na Life as well as performed live in the National Concert Hall in Dublin. His music has also been performed live by the Young Dublin Symphonia and the world renowned Crash Ensemble.
